Damp in Spanish homes. Poor ventilation of premises. Fungus and mouldWater coming through the roof, meeting water rising from the foundations, is the horror story found by some new owners who haven’t had a home inspection/building condition survey before buying.

According to a recent report by the Spanish insurance association, Unespa, in 2024, ‘water damage was the most common incident across all types of properties. This type of damage occurred primarily in homes and apartment buildings.’

Survey Spain’s inspectors/surveyors know what evidence to look for, where are the most likely places for it to be found, and the most common causes for damp. Even if it’s been painted over, experience and can find it and prove it with damp meters. We also suggest what to do to avoid its reoccurrence and remove the fear of it happening again.

Don’t buy someone else’s problems. An inspection/survey is likely to cost much less than repairs.
